Fantastic and enlightening chat, what a wide range of topics, glad I stumbled upon this. I must admit my digital awareness is a disaster, I'm probably at risk of all sorts of data theft, whenever I get those wretched cookie notices, if they're in a different language, whether German, Hungarian or Ukrainian, I've got no idea what the hell I'm clicking. (at least I have different passwords, all super complex for different sites)

I can relate so much with Alex's bureaucracy challenges with not understanding things, endless form filling, confusion. For sure there's a less glamorous side of life abroad, but that's all part of the package.

It baffles me when people say they're not so fussed on the food when they travel. I've met many a backpacker who cooks nothing but pasta in the hostel kitchen to save money but then spends a ton on boozing. I enjoy beer and wine, in moderation these days, but the food is the highlight of travelling.

Great chat, really enjoyed this!

Thanks for sharing your perspective:) Alex was great to share some background in tech literacy and practices for being more mindful.

I have also had other great guests who also share good tips and resources like Jesus, who is a Software Engineer: https://safepassages.substack.com/p/how-to-travel-safely-with-tips

People prioritize things differently, some on booze, some on living arrangements, some on food, some on flying first class, your money, your choice ;)
